IMPORTANT Graduation Information

March 3, 2009

Dear Graduating Class of May 2009:

We hope you are enjoying your final semester at Columbia College and that you are looking forward to graduating this coming May. In order to make sure you do not face any last minute hold-ups that might prevent you from receiving your degree on time, we e-mailed you the “multiple major form” as well as a “change of major form” as attachments. Please look over the following instructions to determine if you have to fill out either form.

  • If you are planning on graduating with more than one major, concentration, or special concentration, including the Barnard Education program, then you must fill out the “multiple major form” and hand it in to the Diploma Division in 210 Kent by March 13, 2009.
  • Also please check to make sure that your majors/concentrations are correctly listed in your academic profile in SSOL. If there is a mistake, then you must also submit a change of major form to 210 Kent by the deadline above to correct the record.
  • If you are in the pre-med or pre-law program, then you do not have to fill out a multiple major form, unless you are planning on completing more than one major or concentration in addition to the Pre-Law or Pre-Med program.
  • If you are planning to add another major or concentration in addition to one you have already declared, then you must fill out the “multiple major form” and a “change of major form”. You will have to hand-deliver both forms to the Diploma Division in 210 Kent by March 13, 2009.
  • If you intend to graduate with a single major or concentration, then could you please check your academic profile on SSOL. If your major and/or concentrations are not correctly listed in your academic profile in SSOL, then you must fill out a “Change of Major form” and deliver it to the Diploma Division in 210 Kent. If your major or concentration is correctly listed, then you DO NOT have to fill out either form. We apologize in advance for cluttering up your in-box with yet another piece of unwanted e-mail.

Hopefully, the instructions above are clear. If you have any further questions, please consult with your CSA advisor, whose name is listed in your academic profile.

We all hope the rest of your semester goes well and we looking forward to seeing you all walk across stage on class day.

Sincerely,

The Staff of the Center for Student Advising
